Fuel saving tips for Honda cars

September 26th, 2011

Today world is facing the crisis of fuel price hike and even shortage of fuel. The price hike is obviously due to limited availability of crude oil and increase in demand of the oil all over the world. Today everybody is looking for cars with high fuel efficiency giving very good average. Used Honda cars are one such car, which is great with mileage, and fuel consumption is minimum. Honda is an elegant and great car to drive. In order enjoy the luxury of the car and save fuel by some good habits follow the below given instructions:

• Plan the journey way; look out for route of your destination. Try to avoid the congested roads and bad roads that are still under construction. Have a habit of planning the journey before actually staring one. With map and planned route to reach the destination there are least chances of getting lost and wasting fuel wandering here and there.
• Flexible driving habits to save the fuel; when we start the engine of Honda car cold, the fuel burns around 20%, therefore short trips with the Honda car wastes lots of fuel. Therefore while going on short trips, try to combine it with other small errands which will give a good run to the car and there will less consumption of fuel.
• Late mornings and evenings are rush hours on the road. We should try to avoid those times to avoid getting stuck in traffic. Make sure you really need to drive and go for the work. If the distance to your work is less and walking can be the possibility then try to go walking as such short trips are not good for the cars.
• Fill the car tank in early morning. Filling gas in cool times of the day is good for car. Do not let the gas level go very low in the car. This damages the engine of the car. Also, do not over fill the gas in the car, as there will be some spillage. Make sure the gas chamber cap is securely closed. Make sure to use good quality fuel and keep on checking the oil condition of the second hand car.
• Weight can also consume more gas from the car. Therefore, remove unnecessary things from the car. For unnecessary 100 pounds of extra weight consumes around 2% of gas. This is too much of gas wastage. Therefore, keep the car clean and keep the things that are required in the car while driving. When there is an inclined drive on hill or something, then this extra weight asks for more fuel expenditure.
• While starting the car, do not accelerate immediately. The starting should be done wisely and slowly. Jack rabbit start of the car uses lots of gas. Starting the engine and idling for some time, consumes lots of gas and damages the engine. Therefore when everybody is ready to go, then only start the engine. Drive with moderate speed, to avoid sudden braking and slowing down the vehicle. If there is a rapid starting and running of the car and then sudden brake, uses up 5% extra of fuel.
• Maintaining the speed while driving; is the best way to use required amount of fuel. Driving the car too slowly or too fast increases the fuel consumption.
• Make the gear in neutral position if there is an idling of the car. Waiting in the car with engine is one and air conditioning is one, consumes lots of fuel. If there is a long wait, just turn off of the engine.
• Parking the car properly and using the air conditioning when the windows are close and shifting of gears should be done wisely.

With little extra car and consistent monitoring of fuel consumption can help to save fuel and give long life to the car.

The Mitsubishi Canter Is Much Sought After In the Second Car Market

September 29th, 2009

The Mitsubishi Fuso Canter was Mitsubishis line of light duty trucks were introduced into the United States in the late 1980’s. Although the Canter was sold in the United States, they were primarily offered to the Japanese and some other Asian countries. Mitsubishi began manufacturing the Canter line in 1962, with most of the produced vehicles going to the Asian markets. The Middle East, U.S., and Europe also imported the Mitsubishi Canter until the early 1970’s. The name ‘Fuso’ means ‘hibiscus’ when translated. This was the first name chosen when Mitsubishi started to manufacture their first products way back in 1932.

The original Canter proved to be a very expensive vehicle and was replaced by the Mitsubishi Fuso Truck in the 1980’s. The previously mentioned Fuso was offered through out a large part of the world. Another very important market for the Canter was in Australia. In fact Mitsubishi thought that it was such a valuable market that they began to manufacture the Canter there in the 1970’s. Although the Canter can found at some second hand car dealers, they are not that sought after today because they were fairly pricey, and the repair costs are substantially higher then other varieties found today.
Mitsubishi focused on making the newer Canter as safe as possible in late 2005. These concerns were heightened with all the new safety regulations that needed to be adhered to when exporting to other countries. An exciting hybrid version of the Canter also became available in 2005 called the Canter Eco Hybrid. The sad part about their new hybrid truck was the fact that they only offered in the Japanese market place.

The Canter hybrid is a combination of a diesel-electric in the commercial truck line. This hybrid is produced in Mitsubishis plant in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, and as previously stated, they are only available in the Japanese market place. The reason this hybrid has become a very sought after vehicle is due to the fact that it combines a clean burning diesel engine with an electric motor that uses the lithium-ion battery. These batteries have twice the capacity of the older versions of the original batteries that were used. This produces a commercial truck that can get up to 30% better fuel efficiency for all driving situations, and also releases less harmful emissions into the atmosphere then a standard diesel engine.

This turbocharged diesel engine produced a respectable 123 horsepower, and combined with Mitsubishis electric motor which spit out about 47 horsepower.

Mitsubishi started to produce the Canter in Portugal in 1980. The factory there was able to manufacture around 15,000 units per year, and have rolled more then 110,000 vehicles as of 2004. They kept up very high quality standards which have made the Canter become more readily available in the second hand car market. They ran each one through a rigorous testing program to ensure that all the safety and design features lived up to the quality set forth by Mitsubishi.
Oddly enough, the Mitsubishi Truck and Bus corporation is a German owned company that has its manufacturing based in Japan. It’s main headquarters being in Kanagawa, Japan. The German company, DaimlerChrysler owns about 85% of what has become the worlds largest truck maker.

With the cost of production of new vehicles continuing to rise, a lot of companies are looking into the used car or second hand cars as an viable option. Mitsubishi has become a world leader in car and truck design, so they are a very trusted source. And because they have such a good reputation with the over all quality of their vehicles, purchasing a second model of any of their cars, trucks, SUV, or vans have proven to be a very easy decision to make.

The First Toyota Crown Made A Bad First Impression In The U.S. Market

September 25th, 2009

The Toyota Crown was first produced in 1955, and was primarily only available in Japan and a few other Asian countries. The main purpose it was to be used for was that of a taxi. During the late 1950’s Toyota made the car available in the United States, until 1971. Finland was the first country to welcome its arrival in 1964, other countries that started to import them were Belgium and the Netherlands. From 1965 to 1968 the Crown was sold in Canada, and it was also exported to the United Kingdom until the early 1980’s. In the mid 1960’s until the late 80’s, it was not only exported to Australia, but they actually started to produce the cars there as well, using a lot of the local resources.

The engine was a 1.5 L Type R, the same as in their preceding model, Toyopet Super. What set the Toyota Crown apart from other vehicles was its double wishbone independent front suspension. The previous models used a leaf spring live axel front suspension, so it was a radical departure from what was used in the past. They were also manufactured in an estate style wagon as well as a 3 or 6 seat utility coupe.

Originally, the Crown was going to replace the Toyota Super, but with its radical new design features, they weren’t sure that it would be accepted, so the Super was redesigned, and the name changed to the Master. It was sold with the Crown until the point in time came where the sales of the Crown were substantial enough to allow Toyota to completely discontinue the Master. It was discontinued in November of 1956, and all the plants that had built the Master were then converted over to manufacture the Crown.

The Crown name was the creative insight behind all their sedans that they built. Here some others that all linked to the Crown. The Corona is Latin for ‘crown’, the Corolla is Latin for ‘small crown’ and the Camry is a transcription for the Japanese word ‘kanmuri’, which when translated means ‘crown’. They were all distinguished by their ‘crown’ emblem or badge on the front grill.

Although exports of Japan’s cars begin in 1957, they ended a very short time later in 1960. Toyota tried to show off their vehicles endurance by doing a coast to coast drive from Las Angeles to New York City. This proved to be their undoing as the car was only able to make to Las Vegas; naturally the rest of the campaign was cancelled. The car was mainly created for the slow moving roadways of its native Japan, its engine was simply to small and lacked the horsepower to keep up with the rest of the traffic on the interstates.

The Crown was a very high end vehicle, and was used by most companies in its native land, as a limousine. But because it was built over a heavy truck chassis, the original 1.5 L engine didn’t have the power needed to propel it along the busy highways of the U.S. Toyota tried to incorporate a larger, more powerful engine, but that did almost nothing to remedy the problem.

The lack of foresight on Toyotas part left a sour taste in the mouths of many, including those car sealers that ended up with an overstock of Crowns that they could hardly even give away. It was a very bad first impression of Japanese built cars.

Why is it that more and more people are opting to buy a Japanese car like the TOYOTA Corona Premio?

September 17th, 2009

There has been a lot of talk about the change in trend for motor cars in America. It has been a long tradition for every house hold in America to buy a traditional American car. These cars are large in size and are literally known to “drink” petrol. Seeing that we are now faced with tough economical times, this has led many of us to change in the way that we spend. One area of spending that has particularly been affected is that of the motor industry. In recent months, it has become a growing trend for more Americans to opt for a Japanese car like the TOYOTA Corona Premio. If you hold a comparison between a Japanese car such as the TOYOTA Corona Premio against any American car, in terms of monetary value, the Japanese car will always win. Japanese cars in general have always had a reputation of offering cars that are reliable, economical and easy on the pocket.

The car is known to come in a range of colour including white, black, grey and silver. There are occasions where a model of the TOYOTA Corona Premio is released with a limited edition colour. Now you may be asking your self, so what is the big deal, you can get saloon cars in America as well? Well you can, but can they give you a savings of $1000 on fuel every month? Exactly. Japanese cars are the only cars in the world, like the TOYOTA Corona Premio, that offers an economical engine. At first glance you would expect this car to be holding a minimum 2 litre engine, however when you open the bonnet, it is actually a 1.6 litre engine. Now the great thing about this engine is that the Japanese have incorporated the latest technology. This allows the engine to give the same power as a 1.8 litre engine but still only consumer petrol of that of a 1 litre car.

Japanese cars in general like the TOYOTA Corona Premio are known to be very cheap in terms of initial investment. In comparison to American cars, you could see a saving of around $5000. If buying a brand new Japanese car is still to expensive for you then there is always the used category option. Seeing that Japanese cars are so reliable, this creates the possibility for one to simply buy a car that is used. Obviously there will be minor things that may need changing like the window wipers or tyres; however the main thing is that you will not have to worry about the running of the car seeing it offers a reliable engine. As there is an increase in the number of Japanese cars in America, it has become easier to find all the car parts that you may need for maintenance in the future. All you have to do is simply visit any good car spare parts store and provide them with your car details. Then based on your car model, they will be able to provide you with what ever car part you are after.

Can one trust buying used TOYOTA cars along with a Starlet for sale in these tough economical times?

September 13th, 2009

These are the types of questions that you have to ask yourself if you are to have any hope in surviving the current economical down turn. There is no doubt that we are all faced with strained financial times but what does that exactly mean? It simply means that we no longer have the luxury of spending like “maniacs” on things we don’t need. Now if you read that sentence again you will realise that you should not have been doing that even in the first place when things weren’t so difficult but that is left for another debate. The motor industry has been one of the most affected industries in America due to the current economical downturn. This has led many to think of what they can and really should buy. Now in previous years it was very common for a person in America to opt to go with a traditional American car. Now these cars in general have always been known to be quite expensive in all aspects possible. There has been a lot of scrutiny over such cars to longer be allowed in the market as they do no one any good. Unfortunately the American motor markets are not willing to change the style of cars that they provide believing that the chance in trend is only a temporary one. This has led the consumer market to look else where to meet their demand which is where TOYOTA cars and the Starlet for sale come into play.

Both TOYOTA cars and the Starlet for sale have become quite popular cars to buy in the current economical downturn. TOYOTA cars and the Starlet for sale are known to fall under the category of Japanese imports. There are many other Japanese imports that you can possibly get a hold of in America, however the most popular at the current time are TOYOTA cars and the Starlet for sale. Used TOYOTA cars have always had a reputation of offering reliable yet cheap cars which is what actually is required in the current down turn. TOYOTA cars come in various models and sizes that ensure you can find one to suit your every day need. The thing that you should be most concerned with is the performance that it has to offer. TOYOTA cars and the Starlet for sale are known to offer some of the most reliable engines known to man. They come equipped with the latest technology that allows the car to offer the highest possible performance, by consuming the minimum amount of fuel.

Now if you take some time to have a look at the Starlet for sale, it isn’t hard to see why it is so popular amongst the American market. The Starlet for sale falls under the small car category but has an extra flare about it which gives it a competitive edge. If you look at any other ordinary small car and at a Starlet for sake, you will automatically see a huge difference. When deciding to go ahead with buying such cars, there are various things that you have to keep in mind. Make sure you get all the legal documents of such cars as they are Japanese imports. There is always a high possibility of a lot of fraud being involved with imported cars so make sure you are on the look out. Don’t rush in your buy. The longer you take the better the car you will be able to find.
